Very useful to quickly add an additional water bottle
Works well easy to fit
No matter how well adjusted, this mount is unsuitable for use on any vertical tubes. There isn't enough grip between the rubber and the frame, so when loaded with even a 500ml bottle, over time (and particularly on bumpy surfaces) the holder slowly rotates. This risks it becoming caught in your legs as you cycle. It might work better on diagonal tubes, or with a much lighter load, but I still suspect that it would rotate to some degree
Much better and stable than the Zefal version
I tried to use not as it comes, but I found that it wasn't very stable with the rubber straps. I cut those off and used some cable ties, and its lasted several thousand KM on rough terrain!
I've found these to be far more solid than similar products from other brands are are really easy to set up. It's handy adding bottle cage mounts to forks, top tubes and down tubes. Potentially you could attach other cages to carry things such as dry bags toolkits etc. Great for the price and really easy to add to a bike, held up fine for a 5,000 mile trip and never needed any adjustment. However these aren't suitable for some frames, as the back (where the mount touches the frame) has a slight curvature to it so is more suited to round frame tubes.
doesn't work, slides down and then rubber snaps if you try to tighten
I picked this up to mount a bottle cage on my downtube. It doesn't do the job. It wobbles around without the straps being pulled tightly. And when the straps are pulled tightly they are quick deform permanently. This leads to a cycle of having to constantly retighten them, and eventually the rubber starts thinning and breaking down. Not only that, but the plastic core which holds the two bolts have started wobbling around inside the rubber, meaning there is side to side play in the cage. I do appreciate that the product has a curved back making it better for round tubes, and that it comes with bolts. This product may be somewhat of use for extremely very, very infrequent riders. But for anything more intensive than that this is unsuitable. I was hoping I could use this for bicycle touring/bikepacking on road and trails, but there is no chance it will. Thankfully it is cheap so the monetary loss is not significant.
Hello. Thank you for reviewing this product. On the down tube there shouldn't be any problem of slipping if the tubing is a fairly regular shape. It could be worth adding a cable tie below or an section of an old inner tube underneath to add more friction to a particularly glossy frame. If not suitable for use, please do not hesitate to get return or exchange at your local store within the 365 day return window.

Used to fit a third bottle cage below bottom tube on my old Saracen Skyline touring bike. Bumped its way along the very rocky road to Cape Wrath last year without problem and still working OK
Having bought a full suspension KTM Macina Lycan E-MTB, there was literally nowhere to put a bottle on the frame (Size"S"). I tried with a King Cage mount on the top of the steerer but it was ugly and "in yer face"....then I saw this and ordered two.... Fitting was a breeze and my advice is do not over tighten the straps, make them tight but don't be tempted to go to the next hole. Once the cage is mounted on to this I then put a black heavy duty cable tie around each strap and really tightened them down instead. Result is absolutely no movement and it looks superb. My cage is now at the bottom end where the top tube meets the seat tube and it's on a flat section of frame at a low angle but stand over isn't affected. It's the best solution I've seen for my needs and is a brilliant product....
Bought two of these by chance at the check out at my local store. I had been looking for a solution to mount extra water bottles on my Brompton, the straps with the seat post and the main frame tightly and securely, easily removed when not required. Great price.
Wanted to have a bottle cage on my 1950's Hercules and this looked ideal as it shouldn't mark the original paintwork . Fitted easily and tool free , just make sure you pull really hard to gt the straps as tight as poss otherwise it will move around .
Straps are too small to fit round the bar on my bike - universal implies it fits most bikes?
I'm sorry to read that the straps are too short for the thickness of the down-tube on your bike.
If you could, would you mind sending me a photo of the frame as I wish to forward this on to the person at b'Twin who manages this item.
In the meantime, please return it to your local store for an exchange or a refund.

Used this to strap to the front fork for some bike packing adventure. His the spot especially considering the price.
