Washing your rope

It's important to properly care for your rope to reduce wear.As dirt wears ropes down, we recommend:1- using a rope cover;2- If the rope is dirty, wash it with clean, lukewarm water.Should stains persist and you want to wash it with soap, it is important to use a pH-neutral soap (such as Marseilles/household soap) and then rinse thoroughly with clean water.3- Air dry the rope out of the sun and away from all sources of heat.

Storing your rope

Ropes should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from light, humidity, and corrosive agents. Never leave ropes inside a car during summer, for example.

Checking your rope

It is important to check your rope regularly. To do so, run the rope through your hands and inspect it metre by metre along its entire length. This will allow you to spot any nicks, cuts, abrasion or weak points. If you notice any anomalies or irregularities, if the core is visible in certain places, if the rope is deformed or has exceeded its fall rating, it must be changed. Take safety seriously!

Ok… a great bargin rope!

So, this is an out the box review, I intent to update after a few months of use. When I bought this rope I was looking for reviews so I hope to provide the review I was looking for. I bought both this and the blue version. Out do the box both are slightly tougher handling wise compared to bigger name brands, however after being uncoiled and coiled a few times they got softer. I assume after proper use and a bit of a bartering they will soften up, much like my other gym rope from Simond. Simond ropes, in my experience have always had slightly tougher cores however this may hand itself to durability. The issue of stickiness isn’t overly noticeable and didn’t seem to affect atc belay devices. My hands only felt slightly sticky after an hour of handling, no more sticky than an a average day on the rock. Overall, these ropes, so far seem super bomber considering the price aswell! Almost 2 for the price of 1 bigger name brand. Really please and will update after further use!

Good all round

I have had this rope for a while now. I use it only when there is a chance of sending a route because it is so light. It is not a rope for working a route. I have a feeling that this rope will last ages if it is kept away from dust and sharp rock. There's only one negative aspect that it does not come in a 80m length.

Good impression so far

Very bright pink. Expected to be arrested by the colour police in Langdale! Seriously though, used alongside a half rope. Handled well straight away - no kinking, runs well through belay plate. Dry coating leaves a slightly sticky feeling on my fingers (hence 4 stars), but I expect that to disappear after a few uses. This being a triple rated rope I find it superb value for money. The rope seems to be every bit as good as any other brand. I am looking for ward to using it as a single, and enjoying the weight saving. I do recommend the edge dry rope if you are looking for great value. Or you could spend the extra fifty or sixty pounds and go with a better known brand. I suspect there are more brands than there are rope factories - if you get my drift. Once the label has fallen off the end its gonna be hard to tell the difference. It's your cash!
