Five stars for value & initial impressions.

I'm a casual cross-country runner in that l only go out 3 times a week and rarely cover more than four or five miles at a time . After being disappointed by expensive brands of trail shoe started using Decathlon Active Grips . Although they are basic and inexpensive the three pairs l've owned all lasted well and were retired due to honest wear and tear . Most impressively the soles on the cheap Active Grips remained firmly attached the upper part of the shoe . Whereas every pair of expensive running shoes l've owned has suffered from delaminating soles unacceptably quickly. I decided to buy the Decathlon "Support" as it looks to be a step- up from the "Grip" and at present it on offer at a reduced price. I'm normally size 10 but found the 10.5 a perfect fit. The shoes lace comfortably around my size 10 feet but could accomodate insoles if needed or thicker socks for winter use. Within in a hour of buying the "Support" shoes l put them to a quick four mile test along a very muddy forest route . I do realise that they are probably not designed for serious trail running so it was a bit of a fiery baptism for the poor things. Having said that , they offer reasonable grip ( possibly better than the designated "Active Grip" shoe l have been using), they are very comfortable and secure on the foot. The sole isn't springly like those on some expensive shoes but seems well cushioned . They let in plenty of water through the mesh gussets but it exited just as quickly and no doubt the shoes will dry out pretty fast after use. The mesh has always proved the first part to suffer wear in other shoes but we are looking at a budget product here so have to be realistic. Overall, at first impression l would say the "Support " is a better shoe than the "Grip " but only a long term test will tell the full story. For the casual runner this shoe certainly seems like excellent value for money.

Comfortable right out of the bag and good enough for light training 5 to 10k.They also are a nice looking trainer and good value for money.

Big toe through netting. Shame

New to running so only short runs and not daily. Bought men’s trainers as the women’s were tight and these size 8s were roomier. Within 3 weeks my toe was coming through the netting. Toes nails were regularly cut and filed so that wasn’t the problem. Disappointed as the trainers were great and comfortable and I felt good running in them. My running buddies said to get the next size up which I might do with these trainers as otherwise I really like them. Just have to wear black socks to disguise the hole in my left shoe and soon to be right!

AND good quality

Not what I expected, worst running shoe I have had

I previously bought the "Run active" shoe which was great as I was a novice runner, I used them for around 500 miles before I wore through them and "upgraded" to decathlon's run support shoe which was supposed to be a better model. From day one I had issues with them, the cushioning was off and felt like the shoe was caving in to the side every time you step but the worst part was the awful blisters they gave me, even after a few weeks and with thick socks a simple 5K would result in a blister on the back of my foot, and the shoe is very tight on the top of the foot. In the end I spent £60 on a pair of Asics instead which were much better, usually decathlon stuff is pretty good but in this case you get what you pay for.

I'm a woman but bought these and was so impressed I've bought 3 pairs. Very comfortable and supportive. Worn for 10k and 20 mile runs. Fit like asics. Definitely worth the price.

The cheapest pair of running shoes I ever bought

I am amazed at how good these shoes are. They support my 100kg extremely well. The lightweight upper did not inspire confidence, but the way the fabric is constructed and reinforced, combined with very good lacing pattern ensure that my foot is locked in tightly. They do not even need the extra holes for heel locking. I was then concerned with how the shoes will behave on ground impact an I have to say that my foot feels very well supported and the entire step from impact to liftoff feels well directed. I stopped worrying about or noticing the shoes very quickly. What I do always notice is how well cushioned they feel every time I start running. I believe that these shoes are very under priced and thus present amazing value.

How are the run support shoes specially designed for running?

When you run, the shock wave generated by each impact with the ground corresponds to approximately 3 times your weight. This wave runs from the heel to the top of the spinal column. Your joints act as shock absorbers, but this puts a lot of pressure on them. We designed the DECATHLON RUN SUPPORT running shoes to protect you from shocks and impact.

Why is there cushioning in running shoes?

In order to keep on running, you need to protect your body (joints, back, knees etc.) effectively from shocks and vibrations. The cushioning in the RUN SUPPORT shoes is designed to limit the effect of repeated impact on regular runners.

How do we guarantee great cushioning in run support running shoes?

The RUN SUPPORT sole is made of EVA foam which has properties and geometry specifically designed for optimal cushioning.

How do we guarantee great support for the run support shoes?

Support is provided by two features:1.A rear stiffener to provide excellent hold on your heel.2.An X-shaped strap system provides unique instep support technology.

What makes the run support shoe comfortable?

Made with a single piece of fabric, the RUN SUPPORT has fewer seams and less risk of chafing for optimal comfort.

Which sizes are available?

5.5 to 11.5.
