Free 900 Men's Ski Jacket - Navy

To face different weather (rain, snow, wind...), the FREE 900 jacket has been developed and produced using a special component to prevent water from entering. To check that they are efficiently waterproof and watertight, these trousers have been placed in a special shower reproducing the conditions a skier may have to cope with.

Water repellent fabric allows water to run off its surface without seeping in. The FREE 900 jacket is equipped with water-repellent components that will extend their weather resistance. This is an additional technical solution for staying dry for as long as possible on the ski slopes. You should repeat this treatment regularly using products sold in our stores to maintain these properties.

The coating is a waterproof "substance" that is spread on the inner side of the fabric. It prevents water from seeping into the garment but allows the water vapour produced by an active body to escape. So you will stay dry and comfortable while hitting the slopes

The membrane is a very thin component applied to the inner surface of the outer fabric. This hydrophilic component prevents water from seeping in while wicking away perspiration. The membrane is unbeatable when it comes to staying warm and dry.

As well as the waterproof fabric, we increase the watertightness of our Slide 900 jacket with sealed seams. These are waterproof adhesive strips fixed to the inside seams of the garment to make it perfectly watertight. All the seams on the product are taped seams. They guarantee complete waterproofing in the snow.

The finishing at the end of the sleeves has adjustable velcro fastenings to go on top of or underneath gloves, allowing better water resistance and preventing snow from entering if there’s a snowfall or uncomfortable cold air from getting in.What's more, given that the cold is a source of irritation, Wedze has added a soft fleece chin guard that protects your face to avoid any risk of neck and chin irritation.

Dressing properly on the ski slopes. In order to keep warm and dry, we recommend using the 3-layer rule. The principle is simple: Use 3 layers of fabric, each having a particular function. Your skiing base-layer and your liner jacket must produce and retain warmth. Your ski jacket will protect you from the weather conditions. All these layers should be breathable in order to evacuate humidity.

It’s the ski jacket’s ability to allow moisture produced during exercise to escape to the outside, keeping you dry. To find out if a fabric is breathable, its evaporative resistance, called RET (standardized test ISO 11092), is measured. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. This is the garment’s resistance to the wind. The fabric is made windproof by adding a coating or a membrane to the inside. When skiing on the slopes or resting on the ski lifts, protect yourself from the wind to prevent chills and make you as comfortable as possible.

This insert made of a soft and very absorbent high-tech fabric effectively wipes water drops from your ski goggles without scratching the lenses.

You no longer need to get your ski pass out because your sleeve has a ski pass pocket to allow you to access the cable cars quickly.

The snow skirt is a protection system at waist level that closes with press snaps at the bottom of the ski or snowboard jacket. It prevents snow and air from getting in when skiing and especially in case of a fall. With the FREE 900, the snow skirt is equipped with press studs which fuse the jacket and trousers together for complete watertightness.

The jacket features an Audio output in the inside pocket for passing a hands-free phone kit, audio cable for listening to music, etc.

To optimise your jacket's performance and durability, we advise the following: Machine wash separately at 30°C. Synthetic cycle. Turn inside out. Use a small amount of detergent. No fabric softener. Wring out manually. Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place. Do not dry clean. Do not place on a radiator. You can re-waterproof the outer fabric using an aerosol waterproofing spray for fabric. Read the care tag carefully.
