Great tent for 2 and a dog

It says that it is for 4, not sure how 4 would fit in it comfortably. We travel as a couple and a dog, for us its perfect. It is our first professional tent :) we used to use a festival 2 second pop up tent, so it is a massive upgrade for us. Nothing really to blame it for, it has everything a tent needs.

Great value

For a complete camping novice this wasn't too difficult to put up , but before i use it for real i will be putting it up again another couple of times. There is a video online to assist you. I would recommend this to other people

very frustrating.!!!!! very disappointed.

i was so disappointed in the set up of the tent, I know its new but the tension on the poles to get the pins into them is ridiculous, I literally used all my strength and failed the first time, I managed to do it the second time after , but later the rear pole buckled under the pressure, so it was kinked.

Disappointed

Very reasonably priced, spacious for two though how four people would live in it is a puzzle. A wrestle to assemble. My main complaint is that you will never ever get the tent back in the tiny bag. Mines now in three bags and I'd think twice about taking it away again as it's too bulky.

Brilliant

Brilliant tent spacious just me and hubby using it and camp beds fit perfectly in the bedroom

Good value for the price

Spacious tent and good value for the price, tall enough to stand up in the porch. Not the easiest tent to put up and can be a little time consuming get everything lined up properly. It's also very difficult to pack back into the bag; could do with a slightly bigger bag! Withstood the wind and rain and can't fault it for the price.

Very poor , poles didn't fit within fabric correctly to tight almost ripped trying to get pins in. He Returned and purchased the blackout version which is much better

It withstood some tempestuous weather in Cornwall

It withstood some tempestuous weather in Cornwall this summer. It is ideal for a couple who want a bit storage space as well and it will sleep 4.

Tent Very Good, Bag mm maybe not

I camp around 4 times a year exhibiting my Modified Sports car, tent I was using had had its day this was on offer, erection was fine,(after eventually getting it out the bag, one suggests the size was at the - end & some of the +/- of the manufacturing tolerances, so once erected when time for Egyptian PT, we were very comfortable, ( I had a camp, Years of doing this in various terrains.. i need some comfort!! these days, :-) ) & was a very good tent for our 3 day show, no complaints although it did not rain, so i cant comment on that, although my son the week after was on holiday with his camper van & had the same brand of Drive Away Awning & that was very good in the heavy rain in Scotland. But when breaking camp, and stowing the tent, as per the video (which has gone now!!!!" the bag ripped, along a seam, Ive been in touch for a replacement, but reading between the lines its too much trouble to have the manufacturer send extra bags with orders ( i do international procurement & make sure as part of a debenture clause we get extra packaging etc as part of any orders) i was offered a gift £15 card but i don't need anything else Ive been offered the shipping back £6.99 but it will cost me more than that to find a replacement. i simply cant be bothered to accept it, (customer service were indeed polite) so In summery the tent was perfectly fine in the instance I've used it (once) however, in the interest of complete Customer service one would say, Decathlon you really need to plan & prepare for instances such as this it happens, (or perhaps be tighter on Product Make Up Specifications) I.e increase the - End of the tolerance of the acceptable scale, as our was very very tight to extract from the bag, as 4 fellow club members 2 had the same tent 2 had the blow up bigger versions, all said the bags had ripped in various degrees, & bought fresh canvas bags to put the tent in. so buying one of those @ £28.99. Regards B J W (Capt)

Great first camping experience

Easy to build. Plenty of space. And survived fairly strong winds and rain. You build the outside first and add the internal sections. Can’t wait to get it kitted out for a longer camping experience.

Good quality

We bought it for our first ever camping trip and it didn't let us down.

home from home

I chose the decathelon Quechua 4.1 for my first proper camping holiday as I belive if your going away from home for a few days you need to make yourself as comfy as possible. Most importantly space is nessasery as you aren't just taking yourself there's all your bedding cooking equipment tables chairs etc. This tent has a 4 person sleeping area but also a huge living area so space isn't a issue. My first attempt at erecting this tent went well and I had no issues although a couple of people would make this far easier. just peg down either the front or back of the tent before inserting the poles this makes it far easier when coming to standing the tent up. Headroom is very important in a tent as my previous 2 man tent meant bending down constantly to move around and didn't allow space for a chair etc that's NOT a issue here . Once you get the hang of putting this up it will become second nature. Value for money at only £99 is guaranteed. You won't find tent of this size and quality anywhere else and with decathelon brand behind it you can be confident of a great tent. It's already got impressed neighbours asking about it. This tent is ideal for family's or people who don't want to feel cramped when in the great outdoors. If you travel with bikes/kayaks etc it also gives you somewhere to store them and should the weather take a turn for the worst your not stuck in a confined space like waiting for the weather to improve. You have a living area which can be used for cooking/serving meals in or just hanging out and relaxing. Storage pockets light hooks and a window to let in daylight are all here and it it has plenty of ventilation points to keep the tent at the perfect temperature and avoid condensation. Now we're all restricted with where we can travel camping has become more popular then ever. Get one and take it somewhere you love or somewhere you've never been. Explore our great country from your home from home.

Tent flooded

The tent was ok for a first timer but during the first night there the living area flooded due to the poor design of the front and because of this it ruined our weekend I strongly recommend you don’t buy this tent and when we took it back to the shop and complain the manager told us to buy a better tent next time not happy at all

Living room and bedroom

5 sqm living area with a height of 1.90 m.This tent is fitted with a basin groundsheet at the entrance which can be folded away in the event of rainy conditions and with a transparent shuttered window. Each bedroom in this tent is intended to accommodate a maximum of four 60 cm wide mattresses. It can also accommodate a couple looking for a very large bedroom.

Pitching and dismantling

There are three poles to insert into their corresponding sleeves. There are colour codes to help you.We recommend that 2 people pitch the tent.

Sun protection

The flysheet fabric has UPF 30 sun protection.Caution: be careful, as a large amount of UV rays can get in through a simple open door.

Ventilation

The ventilated flysheet on the living area airs the room and reduces condensation inside your tent. High ventilation hatches are also provided at the front and back of the tent, along with high mosquito nets on the door and at the back of the bedroom.

Wind resistance

We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a turntable. The aim is to expose each side of our tent to the same wind intensity.Properly pitched, with the guy ropes deployed, this tent remains habitable in wind speed 6, measured at 50 km/h.

Waterproof and taped seams

We test our tents to validate their waterproofing. The first test is done in the laboratory, 3 hours under 200 litres of water per hour per sqm, the equivalent of tropical rain of 200 mm per hour. The second test is done in the field under real-life conditions by our teams. This tent is fitted with a polyurethane-coated polyester flysheet measuring 2,000 mm. It also has seams that have been waterproofed with heat-sealed strips, and a 140 g/sqm polyethylene groundsheet.

Repair

As designers and users who love nature, we care about the durability of our products. That's why all our tents are designed to be repairable. Spare parts and pole repairs are available at the workshop of your Decathlon store or on our website.

Poles and tent pegs

Poles - All our poles are made from fibreglass and undergo double quality checks. This guarantees some of the best resistance against breakage.Tent pegs - All our pegs are made of steel and have a diameter of 6 mm.

Maintenance advice

Our camping tents have been designed for occasional outdoor use (4 weeks per year) when camping or in the great outdoors. Continued exposure to UV rays over several weeks can damage the fabric. These products are not classified as “garden furniture” and aren’t designed to be left outdoors permanently. To guarantee maximum durability of your tent, it's important to store it when not in use.

Our environmental policy

Because we are aware that we must act to preserve our playground, Quechua is committed to limiting the environmental impact of its products.Today, this product is not eco-designed, but we work every day to make it more responsible: eco-design, repairability and sustainability are at the heart of our developments.
