The Free 400 trousers are designed to withstand an entire day of snowfall.To easily cope with bad weather (rain, snow, wind...), these trousers have been developed using a component and treatment that prevent water getting in. To check that they are efficiently waterproof and watertight, these trousers have been placed in a special shower reproducing the conditions a skier may have to cope with.

Water repellent fabric allows water to run off its surface without seeping in. Wed'ze trousers are made with a water-repellent component that prolongs resistance to bad weather and prevents water from getting in. It is an additional technical solution to make sure you stay dry as long as possible throughout the day. You should repeat this treatment regularly using products sold in our stores to maintain these properties.

Thermal insulation keeps the skier or snowboarder at the right temperature: not too warm, nor too cold. The garment then adapts to the physical behaviour of the body and the outside environment.We use wadding for insulation to keep you warm.The wadding is a synthetic material with a polyester base that stores a greater or lesser quantity of air depending on the size of fibres used.The thicker the wadding, the more air there is, and the warmer it is.

Adhesive and waterproof strips applied to seams inside the garment to make it perfectly waterproof. Garments made from even the most waterproof of fabrics will still let water in, unless the seams have been totally sealed.The same goes for zips, they are critical points for garment waterproofing: they must be completely waterproof when closed.

To find out if a fabric is breathable, its evaporative resistance, called RET (standardized test ISO 11092), is measured. That's its ability to let the vapour produced by the body during physical exertion escape, to avoid having too much water on the skin. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. We take particular care in choosing all the elements used in our products. The durable materials and sturdy assemblies are tested during highly instructive testing days! In particular, our trousers are all equipped with edge protection panels at the ankles to minimise any damage to the trousers from the ski edges.

To optimise the performance and durability of your trousers, we recommend you: Machine wash separately at 30°C. Synthetic cycle. Turn inside out. Use a small amount of detergent. No fabric softener. Wring out manually. Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place. Do not dry clean. Do not place on a radiator. You can re-waterproof the outer fabric using an aerosol waterproofing spray for fabric. Read the care label
