Detachable trouser system which can be mixed and matched where required. When cool, the trousers can be paired with down shorts for maximum protection. On the contrary when warm, the down shorts can be easily removed thanks to a zip system and stored in the bag.

To face different weather (rain, snow, wind...), the FREE 900 trousers have been developed and produced using a special component to prevent water from entering. To check that they are efficiently waterproof and watertight, these trousers have been placed in a special shower reproducing the conditions a skier may have to cope with.

Water repellent fabric allows water to run off its surface without seeping in. Wed'ze trousers are made with a water-repellent component that prolongs resistance to bad weather and prevents water from getting in. It is an additional technical solution to make sure you stay dry as long as possible throughout the day. You should repeat this treatment regularly using products sold in our stores to maintain these properties.

The coating is a waterproof "substance" that is spread on the inner side of the fabric. It prevents water from seeping into the garment but allows the water vapour produced by an active body to escape. So you will stay dry and comfortable while hitting the slopes

The trouser membrane consists of a very thin component applied to the inner surface of the outer fabric. This hydrophilic component prevents water from seeping in while wicking away perspiration. The membrane is unbeatable when it comes to staying warm and dry

Adhesive and waterproof strips applied to seams inside the garment to make it perfectly waterproof. Garments made from even the most waterproof of fabrics will still let water in, unless the seams have been totally sealed.The same goes for zips, they are critical points for garment waterproofing: they must be completely waterproof when closed.

To find out if a fabric is breathable, its evaporative resistance, called RET (standardized test ISO 11092), is measured. That's its ability to let the vapour produced by the body during physical exertion escape, to avoid having too much water on the skin. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. To be prepared for all types of weather, layering is the best option. However, you shouldn't do it with just any kind of garments: In direct contact with the skin, choose high-tech, warm but also breathable liner-trousers (for perspiration wicking). There's nothing worse than having wet legs due to sweating when out skiing. Avoid cotton and go for something synthetic, more breathable, better ventilated...
