The fresh & black technology keeps the inside of your tent cooler and darker
Cooler and darker for better sleep! Fresh & Black is a technology patented by Decathlon that allows us to reflect the sun\'s rays and insulate from the light thanks to specific materials. This reduces the sensation of heat in the tent and makes it darker. To get the most out of this technology, don\'t forget to ventilate your tent at night!
Mattress compatibility
Recommended tent with a self-inflating mattress or trekking mattress up to 65 cm wide. We do not recommend using inflatable mattresses, that are more than 8 cm thick, in this tent. Indeed, this greatly reduces the volume inside the tent and increases condensation inside.
Ventilation of the tent
So that air can flow and be replaced between the bedroom and the flysheet, and eliminate the natural condensation as much as possible, the tent has 1 air vent at the top, 2 mechanical air vents at the sides and 1 inner door with a mesh upper section.
Waterproofing of the tent
All our tents are validated in the laboratory and in the field to guarantee the waterproofing. To do this, we put the entire tent under a 200 L/h shower for 3 hours. The flysheet is made of 2000mm Schmerber PU-coated polyester and the groundsheet is made of 120g/m² polyethylene. All the seams are sealed with thermobonded tape.
Wind resistance
We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a turntable to expose each side to the wind. A well-assembled tent with all the guy ropes properly deployed around the tent should remain habitable with a wind speed measured at 40 km/h near the ground (Force 5).
Don\'t throw away, repair!
Our tents are great for camping at night. Over time, they age and some parts may wear out or break. To facilitate repairs, we keep a stock of parts (tent poles, flysheets, bedrooms, etc.) so that they can be easily replaced. Don\'t throw away, repair !
Product design: our expertise
Our Quechua global design centre is based in Passy, at the foot of Mont-Blanc in Haute Savoie. This location is a place where our teams (designers, product managers, engineers, etc.) can meet with outdoor sports enthusiasts. A significant advantage for designing high-quality products and giving you access to all our expertise.
Where do our tents come from?
Created in our international design centre at the foot of the Mont Blanc in France, this tent is then manufactured and assembled by our suppliers in China, Vietnam and Bangladesh. These are partners that have genuine expertise in making our tents and with whom we are in close collaboration.
What does my product contain?
- 1 bedroom - 1 waterproof flysheet - 3 tent poles (2 black tent poles for the bedroom and 1 turquoise tent pole for the flysheet) - 12 tent pegs - 4 guy lines - 1 bag
Warranty of your tent:
This camping tent was designed for occasional outdoor use (4 weeks per year) during your camping trips or in the countryside. Continuous exposure to UV light over a period of several weeks can damage its textile part. Our tents do not belong to the category of \"garden furniture\" and are not designed to be kept outdoors permanently. To maximise the lifetime of your tent, it\'s important to store it properly when it is not being used. 5-year warranty.
Pitching and striking the tent
This tent has a classic dome structure. All you have to do is fit the tent poles with the bedroom, and then fit the flysheet on top. Then, you have to add the 3rd tent pole for the storage area. To strike the tent, the process is the same, but in reverse.
Product Reviews

This tent stayed cool all day in sunny weather which was a blessing. The interior is completely pitch black which was also great for sleeping. The only drawback is that you can't see inside without a light, but you can't have it all. The fresh and black technology also make it a bit heavier. The small storage space at the front was very useful and large enough. We were two in the tent and it was just about enough space for a double mattress in the middle and our bags on either side. It just about fits a 6' person inside, but if you have a tall mattress, your head will touch the edge of the tent. A
Every tent I've owned in the past, my opinion has generally been "it's ok, but...", and I've made a mental note of what I will look for in my next tent. With this tent, however, I think I've finally found "the one".
I had previously looked at the 2 Seconds Easy tents for easy assembly. However, I opted for this one due to the better weight/space ratio, and despite it being a bit windy when I arrived at the campsite, it was still relatively easy to erect on my own - and I'm a short lady with arthritis! I can't quite stand fully upright in this tent, but the generous headroom does make moving around inside it easier for me, especially in the mornings when I'm at my least flexible. There was plenty of room in the bedroom for myself and all my stuff (in fact, it felt roomier than my last tent, which had a slightly larger footprint but less height), and would probably be a comfortable fit for two adults with either less luggage or some of the luggage stored in the porch area.
The first time I used this tent was for a week during a UK heatwave, and it was noticeably cooler inside the tent than outside, but not too cold at night (I slept as comfortably as I would on a normal night at home). There was some heavy rain overnight on one night, but the interior of my tent remained perfectly dry. The lantern hanging points, multiple storage pockets, and 'washing line' in the tent are all incredibly useful - although I would have preferred the 'washing line' in the porch area (or perhaps an additional one there).
Dismantling the tent was even easier than assembling it - although it did take me a couple of attempts to get it all packed up small enough to fit back in the bag (fortunately, I had enough of a mobile signal to watch the video online, and following that it worked first time)!
The carrying handle on the end of the bag does make it awkward for someone of my height, and could be improved by moving it to the top of the bag (I cobbled together a handle here myself by tying a spare strap I had to the two straps which fasten the bag closed.
Overall, although this tent is slightly heavier than I had been looking for (I'd been aiming for 5kg or below), I now feel I have found the perfect tent for me, and would recommend it to anyone who has similar requirements to me. I'm satisfied enough with it that I've now stopped my many-years-long hunt for the perfect tent, and am now just hunting for the perfect trolley (to give you an idea of how particular I can be when shopping for new gear, that will need to be small enough for travel by public transport, comfortable for arthritic hands, a brake to stop it rolling away on a hill (preferably automatically applied if I let go of the handle), sturdy but lightweight) to enable a non-driver like me to keep getting my gear to slightly out-of-the-way campsites for many years to come!
Tested the tent the other weekend camping with my mates, the tent is great. The blackout make such a difference waking up in the morning and not cooking from the heat or being blinded by the sun first thing in the morning - worth getting the Fresh & Black version 100% Comfortably fit a double air bed and my stuff too great for 2 people and their stuff - got festivals later in the year. Actually looking forward to the sleeping / camping portion now because of this tent. Packs up super easy too the bag makes it really easy to carry and transport. Really super pleased with this tent!
