The SLIDE 300 ski trousers were designed to withstand half a day of skiing when it is snowing (around 4h).In order to cope with bad weather (rain, snow, wind, etc.), these trousers were developed using a WATERPROOF component with fully taped seams that prevent water getting through.To check that they are efficiently waterproof and watertight, these trousers have been placed in a special shower reproducing the conditions a skier may have to cope with.

Thermal insulation keeps the skier or snowboarder at the right temperature: not too warm, nor too cold. The garment then adapts to the physical behaviour of the body and the outside environment. We use wadding for insulation to keep you warm. The wadding is a synthetic material with a polyester base that stores a greater or lesser quantity of air depending on the size of fibres used. The thicker the wadding, the more air there is, and the warmer it is.

Only those seams most exposed to the rain/snow are made watertight with special tape. This often applies to buttocks, thighs and knees.The same goes for zips, they are critical points for garment waterproofing: they must be completely waterproof when closed.

Water repellent fabric allows water to run off its surface without seeping in. Wed'ze trousers are made with a water-repellent component that prolongs resistance to bad weather and prevents water from getting in. It is an additional technical solution to make sure you stay dry as long as possible throughout the day. You should repeat this treatment regularly using products sold in our stores to maintain these properties.

A breathable coating means that the surface is coated with a paste or liquid. Once applied to a fabric, it creates a protective layer often used as a waterproof barrier that wicks away water vapour.

To find out if a fabric is breathable, its evaporative resistance, called RET (standardized test ISO 11092), is measured. That's its ability to let the vapour produced by the body during physical exertion escape, to avoid having too much water on the skin. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. In particular, our trousers are all equipped with edge protection panels at the ankles to minimise any damage to the trousers from the ski edges.

Do you know that you feel colder in the wind? Where the outdoor temperature is 0° with a wind-speed of 20 km, it feels like -10°."Windproof" components reduce this cooling effect by stopping the air flow owing to the wind and owing to the relative speed of the sports activity.

To optimise the performance and durability of your trousers, we recommend you: Machine wash separately at 30°C. Synthetic cycle. Turn inside out. Use a small amount of detergent. No softener. Wring out manually. Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place. Do not dry clean. Do not place on a radiator. You can re-waterproof the outer fabric using an aerosol waterproofing spray for fabric. Read the care label
