Warm and Windproof

Wind considerably increases the effect of the cold.With an outside temperature of 0°C and 20 km/h winds, it will feel like the temperature is -10°C.""Windproof"" components help eliminate the discomfort linked to this ""freezing effect"". They are very effective at reducing heat loss by creating a barrier against the wind.

Water repellent items (above all not to be confused with impermeability)

Water-repellent fabric allows water to run off its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. A fabric becomes water repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment needs to be repeated during the garment's lifetime (we recommend after every wash). We sell products for this purpose in our stores. All Quechua Softshell items have received a water-repellent treatment.
