Women’s Hiking Fleece Jacket - mh500 Hood

The fleece component is designed to trap air thanks to the volume created by its texture (known as “brushed fleece” when lots of tiny loops are knit into the fabric). This air keeps the body warm thanks to its natural insulating properties.

This fleece has undergone thermal tests on its fleece fabric and in a climate chamber with a thermal manikin. These tests, which imitate conditions in the mountains, help us to verify our design choices. The optimal comfort temperature of this jacket is between 7 and 10°C.

We expect to sweat when we go hiking, but what we often dread is the unpleasant feeling of humidity that goes with it. This fleece jacket is made from a breathable fabric that wicks away perspiration to keep you dry. Its full zip enables you to quickly let some fresh air in.

We test the ageing of our hiking fleeces to guarantee:- resistance to wear from backpacks and moving arms to delay the appearance of pilling- the solidity of seams- the durability of the fleece material after washing- colour-fastness after washing, against UV rays or in contact with perspiration

This fleece jacket has a fitted cut. For optimal protection from the cold, we recommend wearing a technical base layer underneath. This jacket was designed to be worn under our waterproof and windproof jackets. Choose your usual size.

We test the durability of our fleeces by checking that:- carrying a backpack or moving your arms does not cause the jackets to wear in order to delay pilling;- The durability of the seams;- the material maintains its quality after several washes;- the colours are preserved (washing, UV, sweat).

To clean your fleece while maintaining its quality, choose a wash cycle of no more than 40° then turn it inside out and close the pockets before putting it in the machine. Limit the spin speed to 1000 rpm and do not tumble dry to protect the fabric.
