Men's Padded jacket - MT100

The filling of this padded jacket is made from 70% recycled polyester fibres.For the lining, we use a “bi-ton” dyeing process where only one thread in every two is dyed. This dyed thread is also the result of dope dyeing which incorporates the colour pigments from the initial thread manufacture to avoid the use of dyeing baths and reduce our water consumption.This process can reduce CO2 emissions by 40% compared to traditional dyeing methods.

With the black MT100 and blue MT100 model, the outer fabric uses a special dyeing process called “Doped Dyeing” (the thread is dyed before being spun into yarn), helping us to reduce CO2 emissions by 36%More information: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/

This padded jacket, worn as a 3rd layer, has been certified for an active comfort temperature of -5°C during a standardised test in a thermal chamber.The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 5 km/h wind.We have also tested this model in "static" mode; the comfort temperature is +5°C in this case.

We use 100% polyester wadding (70% recycled).The wadding is made from silicone-coated spiral fibres that make it highly compressible and highly durable.Despite its low thickness, it has high insulation properties thanks to the air trapped inside, and remains lightweight.It retains its warmth even when wet.

The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it.This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm.The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use.We recommend that you restore it after each wash

With the MT100 padded jacket, the water-repellent treatment does not use PFC (perfluorocarbons) or is considered PFC-free.PFCs are used to make fabric water-repellent, however they are toxic to the environment and people. By substituting PFCs with other technologies giving the same level of performance, we are reducing the environmental impact.

A tear on a padded jacket can happen when trekking!
