The patented locking system, VIROBLOC, enables the blade to be locked open or closed, by turning the ring at the base of the blade.The round end of the blade is particularly suited to children (under the watchful eye of an adult, the blade is sharp). Made in France.

Maintenance tips

Wash in water and detergent and clean after each use. Not dishwasher safe.You can sharpen your blade with a sharpening stone, particularly the Opinel sharpening stone available in our range.

Good 1st knife

Great first knife for my 9 year old daughter. Easy to use and rounded tip means feet are (mostly) safe if she drops it! She has already whittled a range of Harry Potter wands! Although a range of colours is displayed on the webpage there was no choice offered when ordering, however we were happy with the knife's colour when it arrived.

Opinel n°7 round end knife

Purchased 2 of these knives, one as a present and one for myself so was delighted to get different colour handles. Have only given 4 stars as one knife was very difficult to open initially (other was fine) but eased after lubrication and use. It is now as free as my other Opinel also purchased from Decathlon. Both knives were sharp enough to use effectively from the pack.
