Description

We have designed this mountain bike for 9- to 12-year-olds (135 to 150 cm) who want to regularly go mountain biking and easily tackle obstacles.

Frame designed for mountain biking

We have designed the aluminium frame for more comfort and less weight. The pronounced tilt of this frame, combined with 26" wheels, makes it ideal for kids between 135 cm and 150 cm tall. This low frame means that budding cyclists can easily get on and off their bike.

Why have 26" wheels?

Because the wheels have a bigger diameter, they simply glide over roots and rocks. On downhill tracks, the frame stays more horizontal, making it easier to steer. Bigger wheels are also more efficient because you travel further with each turn of the pedals!

Changing gears: A SINGLE CHAINRING LIKE THE PROS!

The single chainring is easy and efficient to use: 1 chainring guard with 34 teeth and 7 speeds (14-34 MegaRange freewheel). With just 1 shifter on the handlebar, changing gear is child's play. The trigger lets you shift up and down between gears with just one finger. The gear ratios let you accelerate on the flat and tackle climbs more easily, without compromise.

Controlled braking!

We designed a brake lever close to the handlebar, easy to reach, as children have smaller hands than adults. The lever is made from aluminium, which is pleasant to the touch. The levers are connected to two V-brake pads. They are composed of 2 callipers that exert pressure on the rim to slow or stop the rotation of the wheels. The pressure depends on how hard you squeeze the brakes.

FRONT SUSPENSION

The front suspension helps you easily learn to tackle obstacles on slightly uneven trails.

No rear suspension

This mountain bike has no rear suspension. It is a "semi-stiff" mountain bike: perfect for beginners having a go at their first trail mountain bike rides as a family. Compared to a full suspension mountain bike (with rear suspension), the advantages are clear: this mountain bike is lighter! you lose less energy on flat ground.

A reinforced, ergonomic saddle

A saddle with a sporty design, carefully designed with kids' physiques in mind. It is equipped with a plastic cover at the back (a bumper) to protect from any impacts.

Crankset

The new aluminium chainset has a 152 mm crank that is suited to the child's leg length. This light chainset allows you to start pedalling more easily. The double guard over the chain stops it jumping.

HANDLEBARS, STEM, GRIPS

With a stem that tilts 15° upwards, the riding position of the EXPL 500 26" is raised, accessible, and comfortable. More details: - 60 mm aluminium stem with an angle of 15° for maximum comfort - 580 mm steel handlebar, designed for kids' shoulder width - "Soft touch" lock-on grips for a firm yet soft and pleasant grasp

Wheel/tyre information

The special B'TWIN 26 x 2.00 tyres are grippy and comfortable when mountain biking. The recommended tyre pressure is shown on the sidewall (between 2 and 3 bars) We have made the front wheel easy to put on and take off so that it's easy for you to transport this bike. It is equipped with a quick-release system. 26-inch 1.7 to 2.2 cross-section inner tube with Schrader valve.

MTB fittings

This MTB is equipped with a bell, lighting, wheel reflectors and platform pedals. The frame is also compatible with other accessories: - front and rear mudguards - stand - bottle cage - bag

What if I order online?

If you opt for home delivery, this bike will be delivered with the pedals removed and the handlebar unscrewed for the best transport conditions (instructions and tools supplied).

Dimensions of the bike ready to use

Length: 168cm. Height: 100cm. Width: 60cm.
